CWC Mission The mission of the Cincinnati World Cinema is educational and cultural: to provide the community with outstanding motion pictures that explore the human condition and celebrate cultural diversity.
Cincinnati World Cinema is an AVO (All Volunteer Organization) presenting films that otherwise might not be seen on a big screen in this market, including international, documentary, American independent, live-action and animated shorts and locally-produced works.
We are committed to the importance of films that inform and educate, as well as entertain. We believe in cinema as a communal experience on a large screen with a film community sharing a common bond extending from pre-film conversation through the onscreen experience to the discussions which flow afterward.
To enhance the educational experience, our film events frequently include moderated discussion led by local authorities and/or filmmakers. As part of our educational focus, community outreach efforts include programming for community, educational and civic groups and venues, with film and discussion formats tailored to specific audiences and age groups.
Cincinnati World Cinema actively collaborates with arts, cultural and educational organizations locally and throughout the region to curate and co-present individual films, thematic collections or series consistent with the CWC mission.
In the process of exploring the human condition, our films touch on a broad spectrum of cultural and societal issues. Films presented by CWC are offered in the public interest and do not signify organizational endorsement of any issue, cause or group.
